STAYING CONNECTED ALL YEAR LONG

We are excited to launch our regular newsletter, which will keep you updated on our latest initiatives, upcoming events, and ways to get involved in supporting our mission. Keeping you connected throughout the year is one of our main priorities as we continue to build on this incredible community of  ovarian cancer survivors, family and friends.

Onward Together,

THERE IS SO MUCH TO CELEBRATE!

As the holiday season is upon us and we’re preparing to celebrate winter festivities, we’re especially grateful for the incredible volunteers, donors, and staff who’ve partnered with us to make some amazing progress this month in both advocacy and fundraising.

This month we were awarded a $3,000 community assistance grant  from the Sharks Foundation — the official charitable arm of the NHL team the San Jose Sharks — in honor of the NHL fundraising initiative Hockey Fights Cancer.

The funds will be used to kick-start our Empowering Women: Ovarian Cancer Support Sessions, educational events that will provide around 100 survivors and caregivers from historically underserved communities with the latest information on ovarian cancer and expert advocacy advice this summer.

Be on the lookout for more information about this exciting new program!

OUR VOLUNTEERS HAVE BEEN BUSY!

We partnered with J.Crew for a shopping fundraiser on November 10th at the Stanford Shopping Center. Our Community Engagement Coordinator, Abiha Mehdi, along with three Executive Committee members—Janna Rigby, Kelly Ramirez, and Gloria Pino—helped raise awareness about ovarian cancer and shared the impactful work we’re doing with the community.

Bay Area Cancer Connections invited us to attend their annual conference on November 15th. Executive Committee member Erna Arnesen attended the event, while Abiha and Janna managed our booth.

This meaningful event provided an incredible opportunity to connect with survivors, caregivers, and community partners. It allowed us to share valuable information about our mission, raise awareness about ovarian cancer, and foster relationships with other organizations dedicated to supporting those impacted by cancer.

We are deeply grateful for the chance to be part of such an inspiring and impactful gathering.
