At The Teal Foundation, we always say The Teal Run is more than a race — it’s a movement. And this year, that movement is growing stronger thanks to the incredible individuals, families, and organizations showing up in big and small ways to support ovarian cancer awareness, research, and support services.

Take it from Janna, a longtime supporter who recently hosted a yard sale in her neighborhood. She sent out flyers, welcomed item donations, and enlisted friends to help run the sale. From early morning setup to afternoon cleanup, it was a steady stream of shoppers—and donors.

“Many people gave extra when they read our sign that it was for The Teal Run,” Janna said. “Several people gave donations and didn’t even buy anything—one man gave $100!”

In total, Janna raised $1,000—but more than that, she spread awareness, shared stories, and even met a 30+ year ovarian cancer survivor who stopped by to shop.

Want to do something similar?

You don’t need a big budget or a big team to make a difference. Here are a few mini fundraiser ideas that others have found success with:

  • Host a yard or estate sale

  • Organize a “Teal Tea” or luncheon and ask for donations

  • Offer a hobby or service for donations (gardening, crafts, tutoring, etc.)

  • Celebrate a birthday or milestone by raising funds in lieu of gifts

Every effort adds up. Whether you raise $50 or $5,000, your fundraiser directly supports programs that drive early detection, education, and survivor support.
